Help!
I have been using DNN forever for my personal stuff on a out Server host - but I convinced my work to use it for their intranet. We have windows server 2008 and I thought I followed the instructions right - but obviously not. One thing I think it might be, is that I can NOT find DefaultAppPool anywhere for folder permissions.

Assuming that your are using Windows Server 2008 R2 (IIS 7.5), the following article from iis.net is one of the best for explaining what user account needs to be granted full control on the website root folder and all child folders:

http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/624/ap...

Unless you have modified the IIS Identity for the app pool in which the site is running, you would need to grant permissions to the "IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool" account.

Another possibility to check is to be certain that ASP.Net 2.0 WITH ASP.Net 3.5 SP 1 or ASP.Net 4.0 has been properly installed and registered on the server.
