hello everybody,

i have installed IIS and dotnetnuke 3.2.1 successfully (OS is WinXP Pro). Its working fine wheni m viewing it in my machine but whenever i m trying to view it by http://internal-ip-address/dotnetnuke it prompts me for a username and password.Giving a machine username and password doest not work and page cannot be displayed error shows. However i can view the content as http://localhost/dotnetnuke but cannot view it by using the IP address of the machine.

I can view other application http://internal-ip-address/other-application from the URL. so i m sure it is related to dotnetnuke.

Anybody knows the solution can reply............

The ALIAS feature of DNN is configured so that DNN will ONLY answer to the aliases listed on the site settings page.  That might be your problem so try to list your IP as an alias... (I said try because I don't know if you can list an IP in the ALIAS table)............I personally find it easier to use http://servername rather than http://IPnumber

Still asking for the UserName and password, even if you put the servername.
