Recently I have downloaded DNN source code package 5.6.2 version but I couldn't build the solution successfully. Before build the solution I have made the following changes.

1) Renamed the “Development.config” to web.config
2) Created a Virtual Directory in IIS 5.1 pointing to "C:\DNN\Website"
3)Added "Network Service" on "C:\DNN" folder

Build failure error messages:

Could not get dependencies for project reference 'DotNetNuke.Library.VS2008'
'Select Case' must end with a matching 'End Select'.
Name 'pa' is not declared.
Statements and labels are not valid between 'Select Case' and first 'Case'.

I got stuck here and couldn't find any solution to build the solution successfully.

The problem has been solved by removing the 'DotNetNuke.Library.VS2008' project reference and added the dotnetnuke dll reference rather than having project reference.

I'm having the same problem with community version 05.06.03 but I don't see where you have removed the project reference.
Could you please enlighten me about this?
Does someone know the reason why this happens?

thanks in advance

the problem is that the source package needs to be compiled (see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Packages.aspx ) to build the relevant dll's - a post build script will then move them into the relevant locations.
