I am new to DNN and recently installed to my home computer ans made a few trial web pages, but it occurs to me that is not much use, doesn't it need to be installed on my server to be accessible on the web.  am i correct and if so what is the process / manual

Hi Rod,

Yes, the site would need to be installed on your server to be accessible on the web unless you plan on directing all the traffic to your local PC which is not recommended for many reasons. The following blog post should provide a basic run down of how to move your install from your local environment to a production server: HOW TO: Move a DotNetNuke installation

The other option would be just to deploy a new DNN install on the server and start building it in the live environment from scratch.
