I'm installing DNN with a database located on a separate PC to IIS, everything goes smoothly until I get to the DNN installing it's database, I then get the following error...

Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...FAILURE null - null

Can anyone shed any light on what might be causing this?

Other details:
- DNN PC - Windows Server 2003
- SQL PC - Windows Server 2008 with SQL standard 2008
- Connection string :

Many thanks.

Hrmmm I haven't seen that in a while, can't recall what causes it.

Is the user you're connecting to the DB with in the DB_Owner role on the database?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes, the user is the database owner. It looks like at least some (maybe all, I don't know how many there should be) tables have been created.

Any other ideas?

Just in case anyone else stumbles upon this thread looking for an answer, I have one and it's nothing to do with the database!

Although I'd carefully set the permissions for the 'Network Service' on the DNN installation directory, nowhere in the instructions did it state that iusr (Internet Guest Account) also needed permissions. But there you go, it did and now all is good!
