I wonder if someone could please help me. I am looking at hosting DNN on my dedicated server it is 2008 Webserver Edition. I have installed it successfully but it has installed under the Default site so locally I have to type localhost/dotnetnuke.

What my question is, is how do I tie my IP address in IIS so that I connect directly to the dnn instance. ie just type localhost. If I dont do this when I change my A records for my domain it will Bring up the IIS7 page

Thank you

Ian,
Assuming your server is on a dedicated IP address....you would setup IIS by binding your IP address to your DNN website. localhost would only be accessible when you are logged into the server (it's local). You could access the site via IP address or once you've setup your @ record...through your domain.

Lastly, I would highly recommend a firewall and NAT between the public IP and your server.

Google a bit on IIS Bindings, NAT, etc...there is a ton of info out there that non specific to DNN and will help you set things up.
