I trying to do a new install of 6.1.2.    I upload all of the install files to by server and I have a database setup.  When I involve installation wizard .../install/install.aspx?mode=install  after a short time I get an error that it can not connect to database with the supplied connection string.  I did not set up a connection string as I was expecting the wizard to prompt me.

What can keep the wizard form prompting?  All I get is the error message, not a single prompt.

Thanks.

Open the web.config and edit the connection string to point to your database. The updated file may have included a new web.config that overwrote your old one and that would've removed your connection string.

Mark. Thanks for the reply. I was doing a new install not an upgrade. There was no existing web.config. I never received any prompts from the installation wizard - just the error message.
