After all the other issues i had - i decided to re-install DNN - reconfigured per all the info on the DNN wiki for Sql Server 2008 running IIS 7.0  and asp 3.5;

I loaded via filezilla and after 1 run time error (line duplicate)

I got this error:

Unauthorized Access Error

Error Details

File D:\Hosting\8892119\html\Portals\_default\\Logs\LogFailures.xml.resources
Error   The Windows User Account listed below must have Read/Write Privileges for the website path.

Where would one put this info? and what would I put in, if i knew what I was looking for?

Hi Michael,

I think you should assgin the application running account  Read/Write Privileges for your root folder/sub folders/all the files of the web site before you start to install DNN.

The application running account usally is NetworkService.

I figured I did that wrong- but after doing that I get the run time error - Tried every possible combination and separately to view the error- which seems to be on the absolute host path that I do not have access to on GoDaddy.  <customErrors= "off"/>

So I'm back to square one - can't seem to get the correct path.  re-entered the app settings and connection strings- same error.

I know many people get this error, yet there seems to be no clear cut answer or I'm just not getting to understand where to go to view the  error.

 Being thick and frustrated!  Please help!
