Hello,

I moved my DNN 5.0.1 site from a server running IIS6 to a Windows2008R2 Server running IIS7.  I went through all the required steps and it seem like my transfer was successful.

However, when I go to the site my links are displayed as x’s and I cannot go into any admin pages.  I get a page not found.  I believe part of the issue may be with my URLs.

I go to my site by this Example URL

http://192.168.190.70/site

But the image links are showing up as broken.  The source show the URL like this example.

http://192.168.190.70/Portals/0/guita...

Now if go to this direct URL in the address bar it works:  (add 'site' to URL)

http://192.168.190.70/site/Portals/0/...

So there is definitely an issue with the URL.

I have the following entry in my Portal Alias tab under the field ‘HTTPAlias’

192.168.190.70/site

I can log into site as HOST account but as soon as I click on Admin or Host menu it goes to page not found.

There is not much in the Event Viewer and I cannot get into the DNN menus to look there.

I even upgraded the site successfully to DNN 6 and still same issue.

It must be a setting.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

James

If you restored into a sub-folder and it was not in a sub-folder before many of your links will be broken. This is due to the editor having /portals rather than /site/portals as the base part of the LINK. This will be something that can only be fixed by editing the content. either individually or by mass DB edit.

Hi.  Thanks for the reply.  I reverted to my backup 5.0 site and loaded from scratch on IIS7 on Windows 2008 R2 Server and made sure the paths and setup was the same.  This corrected my images from being broken ! Thanks for that.   The admin pages pages however are still not working.     I can load the site no problem and go to every page as regular user with no login.

As soon as I log in with host it shows me the menu at the top in admin mode but when I click on the admin or host menu I get page not found immediately.

This must be a setting or something in the database.  Any other suggestions?

I also noticed that the links that work look to be tru links.  When I hover over them it show where they want to go and I can also copy the shortcut.

The menu links that do not work look to have javascipt in them.  If i right click on the admin menu i get this shortcut

__doPostBack('IconBar.ascx$cmdAdmin','')

So are there any special settings I need to make to IIS7 or install something?

Quick Update... I installed Java and some links worked. Believe it or not I did not do this. Stupid me... lol

But the admin and host menus still did not work. I read a solution to change the tabs table to make sure the those menu items has "IsSecure" set to false. I did this and it works.

Can someone explain what this is and if I should use this as a solution. I do not want to compromise security.
