It took me 5 clean manual installations on Godaddy to find out when I define new fields in the profile, with the first Admin profile update whole the login for all users takes you to "An error has occured" error page with a url that says "Input string was not in correct format " and whole the portal dies. I guess the problem is sending and storing the new field in the data base. I don't have enough technical knowledge to find the remedy. I tried logging with host account and remove the profile or even whole the users and define a new admin and whatever I knew, including manipulation of aspnet tables but it never worked.

Now my questions:
1- Is there something I am missing? Is godaddy to blame for the problem?
2- When it happens, is there anyway back tokeep the SQL database and not install everything from 0?
3- Is there the same problem with the 4.3 new release?

Cheers;

I use both 4 and 3 versions and have never had this problem. I don't think godaddy is to blame here but I am not sure what was done by you that is creating this error. Have you changed anything?

As for backups, this requires help from GoDaddy unless they handle this via their control panel.
