Where do I find information on how to manually install a module rather than having the DNN Script do it for me?  I am having trouble getting the Announcements module (Announcements_03.03.04) to work in v4.3.4, and I get errors when using the search bar for this website, and I read somewhere that a manual installation of the Module might make it work.

Error reads as follows:

Error: Announcements is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Parameter count does not match Parameter Value count. ---> System.ArgumentException: Parameter count does not match Parameter Value count. at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.AssignParameterValues(SqlParameter[] commandParameters, Object[] parameterValues) at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, String spName, Object[] parameterValues) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.SqlDataProvider.GetAnnouncements(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.AnnouncementsController.GetAnnouncements(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.Announcements.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Any assistance or advice on how I can get around this problem would be greately appreciated.

I was having the same problem. I believe it had something to do with changing the database user from dbo to something else which is required by my webhost. In another thread they assured that they were working on a fix. It has also affected the links module as well. I de-installed both modules and installed versions 3.01 from an older dotnetnuke installation and everything seems to be working very well. Not really sure when the fix will be completed.

How do I "deinstall" the announcements module?  I tried installing a new one and got the following errors that prevented it from completing.  Again, the search engine on the DotNetNuke website appears to be broken or I would do more digging that way.  Any help that can be given would be greately appreciated.

ExceptionSystem.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'D:\WebPages\hosting\miraclecamp\miraclecamp.com\www\bin\DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.dll' is denied. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.File.SetAttributes(String path, FileAttributes fileAttributes) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.CreateFile(String FullFileName, Byte[] Buffer) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.CreateBinFile(PaFile File) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.CreateFiles(PaFolder Folder) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.Install(PaFolderCollection folders) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install()

To deinstall the anouncements module first ensure that you have deleted all anouncement modules on your site. Then log on as host and and choose module definitions under the host menu. You will see announcements listed and the version number, likely 3.03.04. By clicking on the edit pencil you will get the edit screen. Just over half way down you'll see the Update, Cancel and Delete linkbuttons. Of course clicking delete then will remove the announcements module from the module definitions page and your installation. You can verify by checking your desktopfolders directory and the anouncements directory should not be there (if it still is - delete it). Once that's completed you shoudn't have any problem installing the version 3.01 module.
