Hi,

Can anyone tell me why I can not open the DotNetNuke.sin for the DNN 4.3.5 source package in VS 2005 pro. The vs conversion wizard opens instead. I thought version 4.3.5 was developed to use with vs2005.

After following the source setup instructions in dotnetnuke docs, I went to http://localhost/dnn/install.aspx?mode=install it came back with an error. I read in numerous post that I need to recompile and it should work. However, when opening the dotnetnuke.sin that is provided in the source package, the vs 2005 conversion wizard  opens and when I continue on, the conversion always fails. What am I missing here? I got the Dnn 4.3.5 source package to use with vs 2005 pro. I downloaded the starter kit and that worked like a charm. But, I want to be able to use the source.  Please help.

Right now the same code base is used for 3.x and 4.x. and due to different project models between vs2003 and vs2005 the source has to work with the common denominator - vs2003. Go ahead and allow the conversion wizard to do its job and it will convert the 7.1.sln file to 8.0.sln and the project will work fine in vs2005.

Hopefully support for 3.x/vs2003 will be dropped sooner than later.
