I'm trying to load an updated PA after moving my site from DNN 3.2.2 to 3.3.5 and it won't load properly. The database stuff does not get created.

Can anyone suggest what the problem might be? I've tried this a couple of times; when I'm in the Module Definitions tab and I try to install the PA, I get this error:

ExceptionSystem.ArgumentException: Invalid File or Directory attributes value. at System.IO.File.SetAttributes(String path, FileAttributes fileAttributes) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.CreateFile(String FullFileName, Byte[] Buffer) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.CreateBinFile(PaFile File) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.CreateFiles(PaFolder Folder) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnInstallerBase.Install(PaFolderCollection folders) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install()

It would be almost impossible to tell you what's wrong with your module. It could be quite a few things. When updating it maybe something went wrong - the error message is not really telling me much. Sometimes, depending on the circumstances, the module will load if you force the install by copying the zip file to the installation directory install/module then browsing to the url: www.yourdomainname.com/Install/Install.aspx?mode=InstallResources.

If there is a major problem with it it will still through an error message but it might be more readable. You could also test the yourmodule.dnn file on the module definitions tab to see if it is structured properly.

The database structure is created by your "01.00.00.SqlDataProvider" file. You can look through it with a text editor and even try installing the tables/stored procedures on a test database as a SQL script to make sure it runs properly.

Other than these suggestions you could try debugging in visual studio. Good luck with your installation.
