Hello,

I have:
2003 Server
IIS6
SQL 2005 Express
DNN 4.3.5

I've following the Installation guide and set Permissions as indicated on page 12.

However, when I try to upload a new logo file for instance via the Site Settings page I get the following:
---------
An Error Has Occurred When Attempting To Save The File C:\webapps\domainname\Portals\0\logo.gif. Please Contact Your Hosting Provider To Ensure The Appropriate Security Settings Have Been Enabled On The Server.
----------

I can install modules and one of those is attempting to write to a folder within the DNN Root directory and this is unsuccessful as well.

Are there any undocumented permission tasks?
Anyone run into this issue and have the resolution?

Thanks in advance!

Pat

it definitely looks like a permission issue, please check the permissions for the /portals folder and the subfolders again.

Hello Sebastian and thanks for the reply.

I have set 'Network Service' to have Full Control of these directories.

The Docs indicate for my setup to use 'Network Service' User instead of ASPNET user.

What should the correct Permission config be?

Thanks in advance,

Pat

Pat,

please make sure, you use the local "Network Service" account from your server, not a domain account with same name.

Hey Sebastian,

That's the user I'm using and have given it Full Control.

The strange thing is that this is the same Permissions set for all the directories and I can install Modules, they are written to the /DesktopModule folder without issue.

Modules install - but can't upload a Logo file via the Site Settings page and the /Portals Directory is at the same level and has the same permission as the /DesktopModules

I have been thinking that this is the result of the File Manager Security changes but have not found enough info on this.

Or

That this issue is a result of my configuration.

Anything else?

Thanks again,

Pat
