Where is the DotNetNuke_4.3.5_StarterKit.vsi?

The installation guide talks about it on p. 28, but the StarterKit download is a .zip file that does not contain a .vsi.

Thank you, that let me run the install package. The installer ran without reporting errors, and I clicked Yes to the No Signature Found dialog, and it reported success for all 4 templates & starter kits.

But the DotNetNuke Web Application template does not appear in VS2005 when I select New Web Site. I've also looked for it under New Project, just in case, but it isn't there either.

I see that it put a DotNetNuke.zip here:

My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Web Developer\VisualBasic

And in my VS2005 Options it does show the path for Visual Studio user project templates as:

My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates

I've played around with moving that DotNetNuke.zip file to different folders within ProjectTemplates, but I never see that project type show up under any of the categories under New Project or New Web Site.

Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
Version 8.0.50727.51  (QFE.050727-5100)
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 2.0.50727

Suggestions?

OK, I downloaded the 4.3.6 starter kit, renamed the .zip to .vsi and ran it. This put the DotNetNuke.zip file in the

My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Web Developer\VisualBasic

folder. But to create projects using this template in VS2005, not Visual Web Developer, I had to move the zip file to

My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Web\Visual Basic\1033

(I created the Web\Visual Basic\1033 folder, as it wasn't there. I did this because that is the folder structure under the ProjectTemplates folder in the Visual Studio 8 folder in Program Files.)

I also had to select Visual Basic as the language, though I thought I had seen a reference to DotNetNuke having C# modules now. In any case, I can actually create a DotNetNuke project so I'll move on through the rest of the installation instructions now.

I installed DNN 4.3.6 Starter Kit on Windows XP Pro with VS2005, as described above. I created the database on my SQL Server 2K server, added the user account and updated the 2 connection strings in the web.config to point to the database. I verified the connection strings in another application, so I know they are good.

When I run the application in the IDE, it repors "Cannot find server or DNS Error".

I also configured a separate IIS server on Win2k3 and deployed to that server, and it gets the same error.

I've been following the instructions in the Installation Guide very carefully, and I don't see anything I missed...but clearly there is something.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
