I ran the update to 4.4.1 tonight... ran into two major problems.

1. When I try to add a Portal... clicking update results in a "Error on page" icon in IE 7 with the following error:

Char: 1
Error: 'WebForm_PostBackOptions' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: http://websiteaddresshere/Host/Portals/tabid/17/ctl/Signup/mid/321/portalid/0/Default.aspx

2. When I tried to install the media module and add it to a page. It added fine. When I went to edit the media options (to point to some media), when I try to click on update, I get the following error:

Char: 1
Error: 'WebForm_PostBackOptions' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: http://websiteaddresshere/HomeJobSeekers/tabid/36/ctl/Edit/mid/447/Default.aspx

Trying these with Firefox just results in nothing being submitted. It just sits there.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? My site is busted now.

Check your HostSettings; if Compression is turned on....turn it off....

I went into the Host Settings as you suggested, under Performance Settings, and chaned my "Compression Setting:" from GZip Compressions to "No Compression". Clicked Update... Then clicked on Restart Application. The problem of clicking Update on the other modules persists.

Any other suggestions?

Regards,

Chuck

Try commenting or removing the Compression module in Web.config HttpModules section.

Commenting out the compression module from Web.Config seems to have solved the problem. Thanks!

BTW... what did I just disable exactly and what affect does it have overall?
