I did a fair amount of work on a subportal in my 441 last night, including adding and removing pages and experienced no obvious problems. I'll add and remove a page from the master portal right now to check.... Yes, it still works fine.

I added webresource.axd and ebresource.axd as I had seen them in another thread I had been following previously and they were then also discussed in this thread. That may well be the key if it makes yours work now too?

As for my own portal.. the compression and performance and functionality all seems to be working and even working well. The huge problem I'm having is all these exceptions to do with the search engine shedule and deadlocked threads. If I had been on the standard shared hosting account, I've no doubt they would have simply cut my site off altogether - as I have read about has happened to others. The VPS at least meant that it only took my own portals down.. but what a nightmare anyway!

I'm fairly convinced it's because I can't clear out the search tables, but I'll have to wait and see if someone can help me there.

I thought I would add my experiences with this problem. I had MAJOR problems with Telerik's controls on my site as the all make extensive use of embeded resources (webresource.axd). I followed the advice in this thread and everything seems to work fine now.

I had compression working fine in 4.4.0 as well.
