ok, I've been battling with this one for a few days now so if anyone can provide and further suggestions it would be appreciated.

I'm currently upgrading a DNN 3.2.2 site which had a corrupt FileManager because the portal had exceeded 2GB.

So, the site is upgraded to 4.4.1:

The FileManager works, but the folders do not display in the left side of the FileManager

If you view a module such as the documents module and go to select a file, you can see the list of folders within the installation, so DNN has indexed the folders and files correctly. You can also select the folder from the drop down list and upload a file to that folder using the documents module. - But you still can't access these folders in the FileManager.

After creating a folder using the FileManager the folder also does not display.

I've synchronised files and folders, removed cache and compression, double checked the tables for duplicate entries and // , I've checked the permissions table gives admin access to view the folders.

I've also tried deleteing all content from the files and folders tables and then re-syncing but still same problem occurs.

I've checked these posts:

and still no luck.

I'm out of ideas at the moment, anyone else got any suggestions?

Thanks,

Lee

As an update, the folders are now displaying. - I'm not sure how I fixed it, but I carried on the installation process by:

Removing all modules that are not used on the portal
Updating any modules that are used on the portal to the latest version (ie. modules upgraded from DNN3.x to 4.4.x)

and now the folders display. - There must have been some problems with the old modules.

Now all i have to do is keep my fingers crossed that this works when I try it for real on the live site! - Cheers,

Hey Lee,

I highly doubt this is the problem, but I found I could not use the File Manager in Firefox, only IE (it did not expand properly).

I had a similar problem with an upgrade from 3.2.0 to the old 4.3.0. I have recently upgraded to 4.4.1 and I had no problems though (and 3.2.0 was VERY old) - glad you got it fixed and good luck!

Hi Rodney,

Interesting, I'm using Firefox and the localhost version displays ok for the folders.

I've been up since 5:30am starting the upgrade process live as it is the quietest time of day - first attempt has gone belly up so I'm having to restore a backup and start again.

I hate that feeling when you load up your site and it doesn't work! - Well better get back to it, it's taken me several days to find a method on the localhost test site that works for upgrading this site, so I hope it doesn't take as long with the live one!

Cheers,

Hi,

I have a similar issue after upgrade to.4.4.1 . The File Manager does not show up and even when logged in as ADMIN I have no permission to see images in Site Settings. I can not upload anything , in fact there is a Permission issue but I can't work it out (Have already checked the folder permission on the server)

Any ideas on what to explore are appreciated.

Leif
