Hi

I am wanting to create a page where I can list content for people to download from. Now I have two questions

1. Which is better - Repository or the User Defined table. I am hoping to (somehow) make the list get populated from the database, rather than me having to type in each record seperately. I am guessing this is possible with the user defined table (can it be done with the repository?).

2. I have set up a test page using both these modules and put in a couple of  records for testing. The repository wont let me upload as it wont let me enter my name when I add a record. Not sure why (I have host privaleges) and the user defined table works until I try and click on the download link (I created a column with the type set to "download") and I get the following error - "You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File". I cant see anywhere where I can set the permissions to allow people to download the articles. Any ideas as to why.

Thanks in advance.

My advice would be to check Document Exchange Pro from http://www.bring2mind.net . We are using it for our company's intranet and its working out very well. Currently we have over 6000 documents in our "library". Look at the Download section of bring2mind to see a working example. The price is $179, but its well worth the price.

As pixelninja says doc exchange pro is great and there certainly used to be a free 'light' version available for download from the bring2mind site if you do not want the extra features and cost of the pro version.
