I am having what appears to be a rather common problem, however I cannot figure it out.  In hopes that you might be able to provide some feedback that helps me troubleshoot the issue.

I have a 4.4.1 site, and my File Manager doesn't want to work at all.  Here is the error:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: D:\Inetpub\lordweb\Admin\Files\FileManager.ascx.vb(777): error BC30560: 'ZipEntry' is ambiguous in the namespace 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip'. ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: D:\Inetpub\lordweb\Admin\Files\FileManager.ascx.vb(777): error BC30560: 'ZipEntry' is ambiguous in the namespace 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip'. at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

So, I know what your thinking....and unfortunately:
I do not have blowery compression on or ever installed
There are no ICSharpCode.*.dll files anywhere on the server
Deleting the C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2...\Temporary ASP.Files stuff didn't work (saw a post that suggested it)
       Compression isn't even turned on

If I completely delete the only SharpZipLib.dll I can find (named only "SharpZipLib.dll" in the bin directory), the File Manger starts working again!?  Now, wouldn't that be an easy solution?  Except now that when we try and create a child portal (with SharpZipLib.dll deleted) it produces another related error about missing it!

Error configuring Child PortalCould not load file or assembly 'SharpZipLib, Version=0.81.0.1407, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. at DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalController.ProcessResourceFile(String portalPath, String TemplateFile) at DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalController.CreatePortal(String PortalName, String FirstName, String LastName, String Username, String Password, String Email, String Description, String KeyWords, String TemplatePath, String TemplateFile, String HomeDirectory, String PortalAlias, String ServerPath, String ChildPath, Boolean IsChildPortal)

Ahhh... the bummer of open source applications. The lack of support :(

Does anyone have advice/recommendations on where to go for purchasing some level of support?  We leverage DNN for a corporate intranet and public website.

Times like these with issues I cannot solve make it difficult to justify the "free-ness" of DNN.

Sorry, in a free forum, not every question will be answered soon. Of course, there are 3rd party companies offering professional services and support (so does my company).

I have not yet seen this issue on one of my own or clients' sites, so it looks like either a configuration or upgrade error. Have you done an upgrade or is it a new installation? Did this issue happen from the beginning? which 3rd party modules do you use?

Cheers from Germany,

npsinboro

Change references to   TreeNode   in FileManager.ascx.vb to   DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.TreeNode

This should fix the problem.  I ran into a similar problem with a premium module and the developer gave me this solution.

James
