I am using DNN 4.1.1 and users are unable to register if they have a hyphen in their e-mail address.  Hyphens are allowable characters in the local part of e-mail addresses in both RFC2821 and RFC2822.  Is this configurable or is this a bug?

Also, is this the appropriate forum for posting problems with the core DNN functionality.  I find the forum descriptions very unclear for posting anything other than on topics related to specific modules or for general chat.

Thanks.

Gives a pretty good explanation of characters allowed.

You are correct that if DNN is not allowing a hyphen in the local part of the email address it is certainly a bug.

Thanks for confirming my view of the world, Ed.  Is this the right forum for posting bug reports in the core?  It's very unclear in the forum descriptions where issues with the core should be addressed.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the feedback, Steve.  The proper place to log a bug is in the public project at http://support.dotnetnuke.com
