I'm hosting with Go Daddy...
They are awesome for domain name registration, and very cheap for hosting, but.. not sure if I can stay with them. My website hasn't even officially launched yet. They also aren't good for newsletter lists. I looked at their pricing schema and it was way out of whack. I don't want to have to do anything with the newsletter lists, and it looks like the DotNetNuke stuff needs a lot of hand holding with the editor, etc. Plus, I can't figure out how to reconcile the difference between what I want for a member (more info, username and password) and what I want for a newsletter sign up (just email address and verify email address via a link)..
I'm trying out Constant Contact for free to see how it goes. If it costs something, as long as it is pain free, I won't mind. Although, they don't have a "best practices" for combining with open source software like DotNetNuke. I'm having trouble getting the "type in your email address here" box to work on the front page. The link works, but the open text input box has issues... Probably because of the asp stuff?
Anyhow, all the bugs MUST be worked out by next week... the band's press starts then and I have to make sure it is working...
Thanks for chiming in...
Best,
Katherine
