Hi All.

Allthough the new feature (Edit Mode / View Mode) in DNN 4.5.0 is nice when you are logged in as an admin it has a funny effect.

With some users (not being admins or anything special) the two radio-buttons in the top left corner remian visible. Sure, without any effect (nothing changes when clicking) but they are there.

Now the wonder: this is only on the HOME-Tab, which is accessable only after logging in, as the first page when calling the portal is called START and can be seen by any user.

The HOME-Tab has no special rights associatied but you have to be a registered user.

Has anyone else  seen this behavior?

Thanks

Kai

I found the reason but not the solution

The mentioned users are in one special group which has view access to a calendar-modul on the page. And they can add events to it.

And this is the reason why the EDIT/VIEW-Mode Panel appears. These users should be able to decide whether they want to view or to modify the calendar (the entries, not the module, of course)

OK, that is the one thing, the other thing is:

how to get rid of this pane and to give always Add-Access to the module?

Thanks

Do registered users have edit permissions to any of the modules on this page?

Sure do they. Not all, but some of them via a special group.
And only for one module (Events / Calendar) on this page, otherwise they can not create new entries. Of course this is only possible when EDIT-Mode is selected.
What i wanna have is that the dedicated group can create new entries without clicking EDIT and without even seeing the section with these two radio buttons.

I am seeing this for unauthenticated users who access the site. I upgraded my website (www.ouramen.org) from 4.4.0 to 4.5.0 yesterday.  I am seeing this behaviour on home page and on another page, my events page.  The events page is somewhat understandable, because it allows people to enter data with captcha/security code.

(I am seeing this and inline edit is not providing the simple tool bar on html/text modules anywhere.  the two problems are likely unrelated?)
