I think my issue is different.  On my home page (www.ouramen.org) the view/edit control is shown on the top of the page for unauthenticated users who have NO EDIT access to a modules on the page, VIEW ONLY.  I went throught and changed the "cache time" to -1 for all of the modules on the home page and then it didn't show any of the modules in view mode or when logged out as an unathenticated user.

I haven't changed the skin code yet.  I did upgrade from 4.5.0 to 4.5.1 and that improved the inline editor situation for those with edit access to the modules on the pages.

Should I start a new thread?

Hi

Might be that the text in the link describes who to witch the panel off. Unfortunately i'm not the Guru in Skinning, so where to put these lines exactly? A Skin consists of more then one file.....

Thanks

I put it near the top of the <skinName>.ascx file just below the <@ lines.

It will work anywhere you put it in the <skinname>.ascx file, but at the top below the other declarations is a good palce as Bryan suggests.

I haven't tried it, but it should also work if you put it in Default.aspx, and that way you would not need it in all skins. The downside to that is that you will need to remember to put it back if you upgrade.

It's working. Well, almost.

Now the panel is gone (hurra), but allthough i set the panel mode to edit in the portal settings / usability and the user has the specific right to add an entry in my calendar modul, he cannot. The "link" add entry is not there.....
And the user does not have only edit-rights on that specific module but on the whole page (=tab ?). But only for test-purposes....

Therefore: almost.

Any hints?
