Hi,
I am looking for a powerful and fully-tested module for sending emails to subscriber lists (such as newsletter). Are you aware of any more 3rd party modules for this purpose - other than Opt-In Email (from DataSprings)? Does DNN have any module for this?

Thanks,
Olafur

You can send newsletters to members of your site from the Admin -> Newsletters page.

I send out approx 1,000 asynch newsletters.  When I use the DNN core module, I found that if I tried to send more than approx 100 at a time, I suffered a "timeout" somewhere and the emails didn't send.  When I scale back under 100 emails,  they would all go out as planned.  My newsletter includes one image attachment and a good bit of HTML (tables, rows, cells).  Presently, I use a "cut and paste" method to populate the recipient list with 75 addresses at a time...which works, but is obviously not very efficient (tedious is a better description).

I use Jodohost reseller and wonder if anybody knows of anything I could try to remedy this "timeout" issue.  I just recieved Shaun's Dotnetnuke newsletter...and I'm sure he is sending it to 100,000's+.  Either he uses a third-party product or I am not using my DNN correctly.

I can confirm, that DNN newsletters are sent using 3rd party services - this allows extended marketing options and does not affect the server performance (important especially, as page visits increase significantly, as soon as the first newsletters are sent out).

Another DNN module is the DNN-Modules Mail Manager it also has a lot of addons.  Have a look at it on Snowcovered http://tinyurl.com/2oolah

We have found it pretty powerful
