Hi all. This one's always been a mystery

What is a good module cache time to set in the following modules and scenarios:

  • Text/HTML, static content, seldom if ever changed.
  • A feedback form, submitted, but never changed.
  • Core Announcements, added to, but otherwise never changed

I usually set these to 1200, but for no particular reason other than that's what I've seen them at. If a module doesn't change much then what's the maximum value this can be set to?

Also.. what about modules that are used a lot. Most seem to default to zero, but is that the ideal, say for something like Active Forums or an image gallery like Simple Gallery?

This is for a DNN portal with multiple sites running on dedicated resources so I don't have to worry about other portals or sites here.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Rob
