Hi Everyone,

I've read dozens of posts about the Desktop Modules having a file in the folders which look like DNN_[moduletitle].resources and when one renames .resources to .zip, you can open up the zip file and voila, the source files are right there.  However, I can't even seem to find the original .resource file for each desktop module.  Below is a sample hierarchy of my Contacts module.  If I'm trying to get to the VB code behind the module, where can I find it?

Contacts

App_LocalResources

Contacts.ascx.resx

EditContacts.ascx.resx

Providers

Data Providers

SqlDataProviders

.03.01.00.SqlDataProvider

Contacts.ascx

Dnn_contacts.dnn.config

EditContacts.ascx

Uninstall.SqlDataProvider

Thanks,

Jeff

you need to download and install a source version (running on DNN 3.x.x only!!!!)

Please notice, that developement of contacts has been terminated, this module is substituted by UserDefinedTable with many additional options.

Thanks Sebastian,

However I'm not going to downgrade from 4.3.7 to 3..x.x to manipulate a few lines of code.  Is it not possible to download the source versions of the 4.x.x modules and do the same? (I was referring to the contacts module as an example, there are several modules I intend to alter if possible).

Thanks again.

Jeff

if there is a DNN 4 module, you can edit source in DNN 4, but for DNN3 modules you need VS2003 and DNN3 or migrate it to DNN4 yourself.
