I have published upgrade instructions here, that are valid for all DotNetNuke 3 and 4 versions: http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/186/Default.aspx

Mitchel,

I have successfully taken back-up of my database and restored on my local server. I have also copied whole www folder from FTP and configured on local server.

Have configured all the settings as per your upgrade tutorials, and was able to open the first page(Login page) of website. However when I try to login using any userid (admin, host, etc) it clears the values in  user name and passowrd field and remains on the same page. I have also tried hitting on password reminder field but same ouput.

Niether it shows any error message nor it redirects to any other page. This login page doesnot go. Where can I check ?

That is a very intersting one.

I also assume that no messages are given stating errors?  IE the standard invalid login message?

This is resolved now. This was due to a small mistake by me.

I selected ASP.NET Version 2.0 instead of 1.1 as .NET framework1.1 was never installed on this machine .Now I installed .NET framework 1.1 and it is working fine.

However my original problem still persists, When I try to add/update/delete a page it take a long time but finally it add/update/delete respectively. And the same thing doesnt work on my hosted server. On hosted server it shows "Service Unavailable" and then goes offline for 5 mins
