I'd like to display a number of news items and am a bit perplexed. The announcement module does exactly what I want, however, I cannot figure out how to automatically create a link to the whole announcement content. In other words, I can add announcements and they list how I would like them, only the {read more} link is done manually? I would like the [read more] link to link to itself (or the announcement that it is with). Does this make sense? I'd just like to list all of the articles in a module and show just the title that links to the entire article...

When creating an announcement, you can select a link type below the text entry area. When you select a link type such as "Page",  it will then give you drop down list of pages on your site to select and link.   When you do this, and update, the "read more" is attached to your announcement automagically.    You could have the full story on another page anywhere on your site, or on an external site.

The Announcements doesn't work the way you have explained it. The option suggested above is a workaround that would produce a similar solution.

I would also check out News Articles module on http://www.ventrian.com/Products/Modules/NewsArticles.aspx as a possible commercial alternative.
