Hi I wonder if you can help me

I have created a website in dnn 3.3.7 and SQL Server 2005 on a server and transferred it to a hosting site. It all worked well on the server, but on the hosting site, my host account occasionally gets kicked out and has to log in again. I used MS SQL Server Publishing Wizard to transfer the database, then Red Gate to sync the server and hosting databases. The only difference between the two sites is that users occassionally get logged off automatically on the hosting site.

I've done indepth investigation and all I can see is that the user account I use to connect ot the database on the hosting site does not have access to any of the roles prefixed with aspnet_ . I'm wondering whether this may be causing the issue.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I think that session time out is set for 20 minutes as default (in the webconfg).  But it may also be controlled on the server within IIS.  There is a session time out setting for each website, but default also 20 minutes.   If logout is about 20 minutes, that would be standard, but it is possible the host set it shorter I guess.    If you can change IIS settings and the web config, set them both to the same value, extending the time.

Thanks for your reply.

I don't think its anything to do with session timeouts as this may happen a minute after login or 10 minutes after login. I am occasionally getting a bad data error, which sorts itself out as soon as I restart IE and log back in.

I have done a bit of investigation and found that although I appear to get logged off, I am still down as being online according to the Online Users module, when viewed by another administrator.

One other thing. Occasionally when I get logged out and try to log back in, I get the below error. This appears occasionally, and if I restart IE, it corrects itself.

Server Error in '/' Application.

Bad Data.
