I am using the SSLRedirect HTTP Module from Sanibel Logic to perform selective HTTP to HTTPS redirection on my DNN web site.  My hosting provider (GeroDev) has an ISA firewall in place.  As a result, I am experiencing some unwanted redirection behavior.  Whenever you navigate to a page that requires the HTTP to HTTPS redirection (per the SSLRedirect module), and you then navigate to a page that does NOT require this redirection, you essentially become stuck in an endless redirection loop.  The ISA firewall wants to keep resolving the non-SSL page to HTTPS, while the SSLRedirect module (rightly so) tries to map the page back to HTTP.  When accessing the site directly on the hosted server (a VM in this case), the site works exactly as expected, so we know that the network is involved in this loop somehow.  I was able to find the following Microsoft article regarding such a loop occurring with an ISA server:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924373

The question I (and my hosting provider) have is how to use SSLRedirect securely behind an ISA firewall?

Thanks!

Brian

That support document is right on target but only shows half of the solution.  You need to edit the Link Translation table on the Web Listener to map both the HTTP and HTTPS addresses.

For example:

FROM:  HTTP://www.mydomain.com  TO: HTTP//www.mydomain.com

FROM:  HTTPS://www.mydomain.com  TO: HTTPS//www.mydomain.com

This will solve your troubles!
