Hello all,

I use DNN453.

If I login with "remember login", the feature works well.
I can close the website window (close IE tab) and open it again in another window (another IE tab) and still be in login state.

But if I don't use the website for a while, I get out of the website. I need to login again.
For example, if I write a long forum thread (which takes 15 minutes) and I try to "update", I get the login dialog and all my forum thread text disappears.

Can someone help?

Nir

The timeout is caused by asp.net 2.0 change to persistent cookies, please read http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/233/Default.aspx for more details and a solution

Hello Cathal,

I set the "timeout" parameter to 64800 as in the following line:
<forms name=".DOTNETNUKE" protection="All" timeout="64800" cookieless="UseCookies" />
After 10 minutes and 30 minutes the website worked well.
I waited 2 hours, I entered another page in my website. The website logout.
I had to login again.
As I read the timeout parameter is in minutes.
Why my website logout after 2 hours?
Can you help?

Nir

Did you login before changing timeout value, or after?

You did not perform logout, did you?

Hello Exiton,

Of course I logged out before. Why? Because the website did it for me without asking.

I set the parameter to 1000000000.
I don't want to get out if I choose to login with "remember login".
I will wait some hours and see if the website still in login state..

Anyway, many thanks for your help, on this thread and on the other.
I really appreciate it.

Nir
