Hi all,

I am in need of help in configuring a test DNN portal. I have restored the DB on the same server with different database name. I have setup the test DNN on IIS using a different host name. However, each time I input the test DNN URL it automatically directs me to the production DNN portal. How do I configure it so it always goes to the test portal?

Many thanks!

I see two possible reasons for this:

1. Have you changed the Web.Config on your test installation to use the new DB?

2. You need to change the portal alias for your test installation. If you've got direct access to the DB, go to the table PortalAlias and set the field HTTPAlias to the domain of the test portal. After that, you may need to stop and restart your DNN application. for the change to take effect.

you need to configure database connection appropriately in web.config file

you need to add new address as portal alias in table PortalAlias
