Hello Everyone,

I am a blind developer and would love to implement DNN on my site. I had a few questions concerning implementation/configuration after I have it installed:

1. Is the blog module now shipped as a part of 4.0?

2. Can a main blog be placed on the front page of the DNN portal so that it is the first thing visitors see? I really don't want to have people drill down a lot to get to the blog.

3. Can the richedit controls be disabled for all users (just use the plain text box) when using the site? This control does present some difficulties for screen readers.

4. Finally, does anyone know if the DNN commercial books that are currently available available in electronic format? I am not apposed to purchasing one if it could be made accessible to me. Believe me, my wife would really not want to read a DNN book to me LOL.

Greetings... love to try and help...

1. The Blog module ( and all of the DNN modules ) are always accessible directly from their project pages ( linked to the downloads page ).  They are on separate release schedules from the core.

2. Yes, it can.  I do this on my own site.  And you'll note that on most of our Project pages the Project Lead blog is displayed without all the additional controls.  I've had to add the whole blog suite from the Add Module, and then just delete the bits I don't want to keep.

3. Unsure... I'll try to direct Hans Peter to this post for you.

4. I think that the original Wrox Pro book is available in an electronic format from Wiley...

Cheers

Hello Scott,

I just purchased the pro book, thanks for the hint. Can you send me a link to your site? I would love to see how you have it looking. Can the blog entries be navigatable by headings? I assume this is possible by creating a skin, correct?

on point 3... you can always install and use the FCK editor instead of the default FTB item. The editor provider lets you set a specific toolbar per instance.
