I have uploaded a bunch of files via ftp to my site but when I log in and go to the file manager I cannot see them. Similarly, when I try to link to a file that was ftp'd it does not show up. If I go back into ftp and look in the directory I see that the files are indeed there. Is my file manager just messed up? Or does this happen a lot and I just need to change a setting?

Thanks
Mike

dotnetnuke uses an abstracted filesystem, which allows users to upload files to the filesystem (both normal and secured) and the database. If you upload files outside the file manager, you need to go to it and synchronize i.e. log in as host and go to host->file manager and click the "syncronize files" link in the top right of the interface.

Ok, I had tried the syncronize files button before but I am just now realizing that you have to do it for each folder. Ok, cool. Thanks for your help. Is there any way to make syncronize files work globally? I tried running it off the root dir and no dice. Thanks though, this helps me get along ok. Mike

Thought I'd also add, I have auto sync enabled in the host settings, must not have it set right... I'll look into it.
