Hi,

I am deploying (for the first time) my dnn db from development machine to my webserver.

Problem is that I can not login using the dnn sql user account that I am using in my development environment.

It is created when I restore my db but the sql dnn user is specified as 'without login'  in sql server express.

I do not know how to change this or what I should do to solve this...

Thanks, Hornox

One way around this is to install DNN from scratch on the deployment server, using the same version and same login/password, database name, etc.  Then do a backup/restore to transfer the database over.  Make sure you edit the new web.config appropriately, leave the connection string alone but copy any custom settings and especially the machine keys.

I have had similar issues. Another way to get around this is to remove the sql user after you restore the db and then add them back in. Even though they are the same username on the DEV and PROD database, the user can't access the db.
