If I create a dnn site at say 'http://testhome', with loads of modules/content, on my development machine can I then copy (attach) this database to a live environment where the url will be 'http://home' and use it as is?

I fear the worst as there may be 'absolute' urls stored so I think I may know what the answer will be so I'm hoping that someone has done this before and can point me in the right direction (with some sql script perhaps) that will solve my problem.

Regards,

Steve.

You'll need to login as a Superuser (Host) to modify the "Portal Aliases" for a portal

You'll then need to look at your HTML content to see if there are hard coded URLs, you might try our Engage: F3 module available for free from www.engagemodules.com, the module will allow you to search/replace across Text/HTML modules on your site.

Only if you stored them.  DNN will not create absolute URLs, but you're always free to hard code anything.  :)
