ok Thanks. but for some reason I cant find it. I am in the language editor under admin\Security\App_LocalResources\

but I see no Register.ascx.resx file anywhere - I also looked in the Users directory too.

What am I missing here?

Hi Emcguire,

The register.ascx file, I believe, was depreciated when DNN added multiple provider support, around 4.7.

The resource string you're looking for is stored in App_GlobalResources\SharedResources.resx, assuming you're running a post-4.7 install.

Keep in mind that all of these resource strings are xml-based, so if you are unable to figure out where a resource is located at, you can always just do a textual search of all the files in your website root.  You can even edit the files by hand.  For a few simple changes, this is often faster than using the UI.

If your replacement text is a lot better than what exists now, you might think about suggesting it as a Gemini improvement so it is integrated into a future version.  I agree that many of the resource strings are unnecessarily technical, and could stand some user-friendly polish.

Hope this helps!

Brandon

In a 4.5.5 install I found this string in the admin/security/app_resources/Register.ascx.resx file.

the string "All fields marked with a red arrow are required" doesnt seem to be in included in this file.  I was able to find this string in a post 4.7 install in the SharedResources.resx file in the required.text field, but not in the 4.5.5 installation. Does anyone know where this string is stored in 4.5.5?

Thanks
