Hi,

Last friday i got a mail from my hostingprovider that my database is to big, 1 600mb. First i couldn't believe, so i checked it, and it's correct :(.

database_name database_size unallocated space
rg 1640.63 MB 0.34 MB

I followed every step of: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/168194/scope/posts/Default.aspx . I think i won about 30mb. I also cleaned the log and the events tables. But with no result.

I have no idea what there could be wrong. It's a small website (with 40 pages, no users, no large files (files are not stored in the db)).  What can i do to shrink my database?

Is the size output before or after the truncation of the site log and event log tables?

I have a procedure listed in my blog called (GetAllTablSizes) that will get you a list of the size of each database table to help isolate the problem area.  You can find it in my blog at http://www.mitchelsellers.com.

Looks quite normal to me. The site gets only 50 visitors a day, so... . What else could there be wrong? my hostingprovider doesn't know.

Could it be that your database it set to use the Full Recorvery model? That can make the logs quite big...
