Can anyone provide hardware recommendations for a DNN web server?  We will be moving from a classic ASP site that is getting about 30k hits a day to a DNN site.  There will be other ASP.Net applications that will run on the server.  Our SQL server is on a different machine.

it depends on the size of the web site, number of modules, visitors, ...

for a mid size portal, any current server shall be ok, make sure to have enough RAM installed, if you want to use caching heavyly for performance.

I've been searching on MSDN/Google for general web server hardware requirements and I am have a hard time finding a concise recommendation.

I will use most of the core modules and 3-5 others(to start).  I have about 5000 distinct users a day.  What would you consider enough RAM?

even core modules have different requirements, e.g. Text/HTML very few (easily cacheable) and Forums will need a lot of cache. I assume, an up2date dual core machine with ~4 GB shall be a good start.

Check the IIS Resource Kit for some decent sizing guidelines.
