If you dig a little deeper you will see that Active Modules bought what was previously known as MyMessages and MyProfile. This was a partial Social Networking solution, but was being built and supported by one guy (DNNFusion) who was not able to keep the feature set moving forward.

So the plan is for ActiveModules to use these new tools with their existing ActiveForums to build out a more feature-complete social networking solution for DNN. They also plan to add other features as time goes on.

I have a high level of confidence that ActiveModules will put out a very nice Social Networking platform and continue to build on it. I know personally this is something DNN has been lacking for years. There is supposed to be some beginner set of SN modules in DNN 5, but my money is on ActiveModules leading the way in this space, just as they have in the forums and other great tools that they have developed.

Last word on the AM website is for a late July or early August release of the integrated product. Read more at ...
