That is the answer I was looking for, thank you.  Are intention is to have several load balanced servers in the DMZ, and a single server for authoring in our internal network, the servers in the DMZ will be missing the login.aspx file, while the server in the internal network will have the login.aspx file.  All authoring will be done on the internal server where as the servers in the DMZ will only be serving up the content.

Do you see any potential issues with this setup?

Thanks.

Derek

our supported webfarm scenario uses only one copy of the code base (the objects within desktopmobules, bin and portals are then replicated to our servers), but I guess you could write a version that ignores the logic.ascx.vb

What exactly is the purpose of the logic.ascx.vb code behind file?

Thanks.

Ok... I think I found an easy way to do what you are requesting. Unfortunately, I am now locked out of my latest portal!!! So please only do this AFTER you launch!! lol

In your Host Settings, go to Authentication Settings and uncheck all options (DNN, LiveID, OpenID). Once you save, you SHOULDN'T be able to log in. Just make sure to remove the login button in the appropriate .ascx file (in the portal skin), so your login link won't be broken.
