Does somebody any experience when configuring DNN with load balancing?

I have 4 server with configuration like below:

1. APP1 and DB1
2. APP2 and DB2

Is it possible to make all servers to be configured with load balancing and using DNS round robin mechanism ?

Is there any way to make DNN admin add new content always to APP1 rather than APP2 even when they login in APP2 ?

Thank you for any help or suggestion.

There's a document on the official documentation pack titled "DotNetNuke Web Farm Support". http://www.dotnetnuke.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=uBK3uGIYYXg%3D&tabid=478&mid=857

even with web farms, you need to have a single database and file storage for all webheads. Memory based caching is not included with DNN CE, you may use file based caching, PE or a 3rd party caching provider instead

Sebastian,

If using PE allows us to run DNN on multiple webservers with a single file share and a single database, all behind a load balancer, then upgrading to PE will certainly be an option.

The 'unknown' (at least to me)  is whether the above setup is supported.

DotNetNuke does rely on a single database specification.  You can do your scaling within SQL Server (mirroring, clustering, etc), but the application needs to address a single database.

The solution works with a single file store out of of the box (eg. running multiple webheads from a network share).  It is possible to use separate file stores, but this is non-trivial and requires custom setup and support procedures to manage it (eg. using tools like robocopy).  It is not a configuration we directly support (although a number of folks have done it).
