I am fairly new to webhost4life.com but went there on the recommendation that they were a great DNN host. I got everything moved over and setup with little to no problems. The only issue I had was with the Feedback forum. On my previous server I used localhost as the SMTP server. So I contacted Tech support and they logged into my DNN site and setup the following:

SMTP Server and port: mail.mydomain.com
SMTP Authentication: Basic
SMTP Enable SSL: "unchecked"
SMTP Username: Postmaster@mydomain.com
SMTP Password: my password

After this it worked and I was thrilled and moved on. Well I was contacted here recently informing me that no emails had come in a long time. So I tested the forms and I too could not receive anything. So I started a ticket... and it begins.

First the respond with:
Dear customer, would you advice what is the "from" address? Are you using our email server to relay? Does it setup SMTP authentication?
Thank you.

Then:
Sorry for your inconvenience. To enable dnn email services, you should make sure:
#1 using correct smtp authentication, expecially using "basic" as delivery method.
#2 the email address of "admin" user and host email address must be same with your authentication user.

Please double check it. If still fail, please show us your host login information. Let's check it for you. Thanks.

Finally to make a long story short:
Dear customer,
When you are using our mail server (mail.yourdomain.com) to send emails in the form, only authentication users can receive back the emails.

I suggest you use outsider email server and no need authentication to send emails. So that anyone can submit the form and receive the feedback.

Please let us know if you have any further inquiry.
Thanks.

Now I may be wrong but I would assume this would be an issue many of you would be dealing with??? If so I would appreciate any help as I don't seem to be getting anywhere with my ticket...

thanks,
-justin

Justin,

Did you manage to bottom this out as I have exactly the same problem with feed back and helferin form module and host on Webhost4life.

Host email, site admin email, and form email are identical but nothing seems to get out. If I test the email from the host settings page a mail goes out fine.

Please keep me posted if you figure a solution

Regards

Colin
