I am on version 4.9 and am adding modules in the left pane next to my content area (on the Home page), and setting them to appear on all pages.  I didn't add them all at the same time, but have not tried to reorder them since I added them.  On some pages they appear in the order I added them to the Home page, and on others they are mixed up (like the last one added ends up being the first one rendered).  Why won't they stay in the same order on each page?

the order of "Modules on all pages" is one of the great secrets of DotNetNuke - it looks like a bug, but maybe there is greater wisdom, we poor ordinary people don't understand. ;)

So how does everyone else solve the problem of showing repeat content?  My need is several link modules in a certain order (or we have owners of these company links get all upset that the senior companies are listed last), followed by whatever else that is less priority, but needs to appear on every page.

The only solution I have found is to go into all of them and deselect the show on all pages and update.  Then start from the bottom and change settings back to show on all pages and update.  The result is the last one you do this to will be on the top.

Now there seems to be another problem with this.  It acts like these modules are copied and pasted to every page on the site (yuck - like the old days before object inheritance), because now when I delete one off the home page, the other pages ignore that request.  Now I have to go to every single page on the site and delete these.

This is ridiculous.  There has to be a better way of managing repeating content.
