At the moment I have a custom field in the registration page, that the previous person created in DNN 4.3.6.

The trouble that i'm having is that I need this field to be accessible at the time of registration, but after they register, I don't want this field to be editable.

I want it to work just like the username field that is currently employed.  You choose your username at registration, but after that you can't change it.  Does anyone know how to implement this?

Thanks in advance.

The USERNAME field is a special field as it is used as a unique identifier for a person's account.  It is the only CREDENTIAL or PROFILE field that cannot be edited.

Unless you want to spend the time to create and debug your own registration module (to add your own field that is saved to a custom DB table), I'd recommend trying Dynamic Registration from Data Springs:

I would not recommend altering the default DNN user registration code since you're likely to lose your changes the next time you upgrade to a newer version of DNN.
