Hello,

I understand that I am able to create sub-portal using DNN. I would like to implement in a way that all host actually redirect back to the main portal; and base on the combination of user role within a host, I display different set of modules on the main portal.

In other words, each host will have its own set of user / role combinations, I would like to use this set of combination to drive what they can see on the main portal.

Is this doable?

Thanks,

Kevin

Not exactly sure what you are trying to do.

Are you wanting the users to see something different depending on the Host URL they access?  e.g. users accessing www.domain1.com see one thing and users accessing www.domain2.com something else.  If so when you set up the additional portal you create it as a 'parent' portal and use the 'www.domain2.com' as the Portal alias.

In DNN there are 2 different types of portals Parent and Child. The difference is how they are addressed.  Parent portals have thier own individual domain name where Child use the domain of another portal.  Example of a Child portal, You have a parent portal accessed using http://www.domain.com the Child portal would be accessed using http://www.domain.com/childportalname.

With both Parent and Child portals the user names and roles (except the built in ones) are seperate.

Hi Antony,

Here is what I would love to achieve:

- One single portal (one domain) to serve two different group of users.
- I have a group of business partners that do business with us; for each partner, I want to be able to assign them an admin that could create their own users with roles and permission.
- I would love the partner admin be able to add modules that can be viewed only by all users under this partner
- On the portal, anonymous user will see a standard set of modules that I assigned. But once a user is logged in, they will see modules that were assigned by their associated partner admin.

Thanks for any help and I hope this explain what I would like to achieve.
