I'm not sure what the feature is called, but I want to disable it... The feature where when you hover over text/html content or any title of a module while logged in as an admin, there is a square that appears with a pencil in it.

Is there a way to disable it and how?

Thanks guys!

Accepted Answer

Go to Admin | SiteSettings, scroll down, expand 'Advanced Settings' and then expand 'Usability Settings' and uncheck 'Inline Editor Enabled?'

 Fantastic! thanks!

While we're talking about disabling features, is there a way to disable the ajax based menu's on the modules? Many times when I want to use a menu, the spinner appears and the menu just doesn't show. I'd rather have it preloaded in the page. Is this possible to get rid of?

Thanks again!

in dnn 4 you can disable AJAX, however, this will not be an option in DNN5 and some modules may fail.

I suggest to upgrade to DNN 4.9.2 if you are on a previous version, use of AJAX has been improved over the past releases.
