 Hello,

What we thought should have been just a click of button has eluded us.  We simply need to link a page menu item in the navigation to an external page, but it needs to open in a new window so the user doesn't get taken away from our site.

Under Page Settings, Advanced Settings, we see the Link URL, but only Link types of URL (A Link To An External Resource), Page (A Page On Your Site) and File (A File On Your Site).  The link to an external resource opens in the same window, taking the viewer away from the site.

Are we just overlooking something?  Can anyone please shed some light on this for us?

Thanks.

The problem that I am having with the window.open("...") is that it gets blocked by pop-up blockers.  Is there any other way around this?  I can't find anywhere to specify a target for the link and have even tried creating a separate page and using a meta refresh but unfortunately, meta refresh doesn't seem to support targets either.

So, I've discovered how to add the link without it getting blocked by the pop-up blocker.  Go to your page properties and then select "URL" for the link type and then insert the following as the URL:   void(window.open('http://www.sitexyz.com'))

That solves that problem.  Now I need to let users know that they are leaving our site when they click this link.  I normally use a javascript alert to do this however, I can't figure out where to place the code in this instance so that it will work.  Any suggestions?
