So, the CFO of the company comes up to me and says, "Hey, we need to create a secure website that does NOT use tracking cookies."

How easy is it to do this with a DNN 5.0.1 "out-of-the-box" installation?  Can I just "flip a switch?"

Er....yes (I think).  By default, the only persistent cookie (as opposed to session cookie) I know of is the "Remember Me" cookie.  DNN 5.x has an option to disable this feature.

See info from Cathal, here:

Beyond the core DNN framework features, you'll need to pay close attention to individual modules to insure none utilize persistent cookies.

Excellent.

Would you... could you... disable session cookies?  Am I an idiot for asking?

You can disable session cookies, but then you get a "SessionId" parameter that gets passed from page to page.  And most see that as a bigger security issue..
